Start Your Day with Avocado Toast

Ah, the humble slice of bread. It’s crazy how much you can do with it—dress it up, just add butter, make it savory, or sweeten the deal. How could you ever go wrong with toast in the morning?

I’ve been trying tons of different avocado toasts and this recipe is a combination of many favorite restaurants. You can also add an egg on top; I usually go with a fried egg over-easy but poached is great too.

But I couldn’t just stop at avocado toast for this one so pictured are some sweet combinations as well. Just listen to your heart when it comes to dressing up your toast. I bet you can’t go wrong!

xo Enjoy!

Best Avocado Toast Recipe

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Serves: 1-2 people

Ingredients

Sourdough bread, sliced

1 tbsp Olive Oil, plus more for bread

1 Avocado, ripe

1 tbsp Lemon Juice

Sea Salt, to taste

Red Pepper Flakes, to taste

Parmesan Cheese, shredded

 Directions

1. Place a nonstick pan on the stove, turn to medium heat.

2. Coat the sliced sourdough with olive oil to taste, enough to make it crispy.

3. Toast the sourdough in the pan, flipping over when one side is golden brown.

4. While the bread is toasting, cut the avocado down the middle, remove the pit, and scoop the avocado into a medium bowl.

5. Mash the avocado and mix in olive oil, lemon juice, sea salt, and red pepper flakes to taste.

6. When the bread is toasted to a golden brown on both sides, remove from pan and spread your avocado mash on top.

7. Top with a few more red pepper flakes and a sprinkle of shredded parmesan cheese.

8. If you have more toast ready and want more variety, top with your preferred combination of ricotta, honey, strawberries, blueberries, peanut butter, bananas, or mini chocolate chips.
